Pastoral Care Mission/Purpose
To serve East Side Catholics who are patients in Columbia Hospital by providing Eucharist, prayer and consolation. Regular Activities
Weekly pastoral visits to Catholic patients at Columbia Hospital. The Pastoral Care Office at Columbia provides a list weekly of approximately 5-10 patients. Spiritual Growth/Benefits of Participating in this Ministry
In visiting the hospitalized, volunteers have the opportunity to share their personal faith and to extend parish services to other East Side Catholics, perhaps at a time when they need it most. Specific Requirements to Consider if Participating in this Ministry
Columbia Hospital requires an orientation session, flu shots and a TB test. The parish team provides training. Volunteers should exhibit patience and good listening skills and be available Wednesdays.
