As St Paul says in Chapter 12 in his letter to the Romans, "If
your gift is prophecy, then use it as your faith suggests; if administration,
then use it for administration..."

Day in and day out, Jane Ore manages the financial and administrative
aspects of running the parish. This includes serving as the staff representative
to the Parish Council, and to the Administrative Services, Stewardship,
and Parish Life Commissions. Jane is grateful for the ability to use a
gift from God in a way that uses her talent for management and encourages
moral responsibility for day to day activities and decisions.
Among the activities that Administrative Services oversees:
Budgets - this is a yearly process that begins in December and
goes through June 30th. Budget worksheets, budget workshops and budget
timelines are created to assist the commissions in their preparation of
the annual budget.
Financial Reports - following the format set forth in the Parish
Financial Management Manual, accounting of parish income and expenses
are done on a daily basis. Financial reporting and financial reviews are
done on a monthly basis and are reviewed by Administrative Services. A
yearly fiscal financial statement of the parish is prepared for the parishioners
to review. The archdiocesan Confidential Report is filed annually.
Personnel Management - guided by the Church's social teachings
to provide justice in the workplace the following areas of personnel management
are formed and maintained: human resource policies and benefits, evaluating
human resource needs, monitoring just wages for all parish employees,
hiring of parish personnel and the management of the Office and Maintenance
staff. Organization of personnel files, preparation of payroll and payroll
related issues are handled according to time sensitive schedules.
Building and Grounds - responding to the call of the Church to
be good stewards of our parish buildings and grounds the upkeep and maintenance
tasks are performed on a daily basis. Evaluations and recommendations
are made as to the improvements needed to maintain our facilities in a
manner that is consistent with good stewardship as both tenant and landlord.
Recommended projects are scheduled according to priority and budgetary
restrictions.
Rectory Office - recognizing that the gift of administration
should be used for service, the purpose of managing the rectory office
is to better serve the parish community. The answering of phones, the
ministering of people at the door, the maintaining of parish files, the
preparation of parish reports, the input and storage of parish data and
various other duties are done as required by need and time.
If you'd like to serve with a material gift, view the
parish wish list.
Volunteers are frequently called upon to assist in this ministry. The
main requirement for this ministry is to have a servant attitude: to
realize that we are called to serve the parish at large and to treat
anyone who comes to the rectory office or calls on the phone with dignity
and respect. Other skills that serve this ministry well include: an
aptitude for numbers, a knowledge of accounting systems, an understanding
of word processing, familiarity with office equipment, or an interest
in data entry.
